Coronavirus: Bishopstone show cancelled

Organisers of the Bishopstone Spring Show for Horticulture and Home Produce have announced that the event will not take place due to the ‘present situation of coronavirus’.

The event was due to run on Saturday (March 21) at Bishopstone Parish Hall with proceeds to go to St Andrew’s Church.

A spokesperson said it was ‘with great regret’ that they had come to the decision to cancel the event.

Linda Wallraven, one of the organisers, said: “We had to come to this decision because of the current situation with the coronavirus.

“Taking this into consideration this would have been an indoor event attracting a large amount of people during the course of the day. Also [the] majority of our volunteers for the show are in the 70+ age group.”
