The land, in Kings Drive near Rodmill Roundabout, is up for sale with auctioneers Barnard Marcus and will go under the hammer on March 9 at a Covent Garden venue.

Ratton ward Conservative councillor Colin Belsey said, “I am amazed and disgusted that these plots of land are coming up for sale in our ward. Once again this is somebody trying to make money out of what is considered a leisure area in Ratton ward.”

This comes after a plot of land in Burton Road, also in Mr Belsey’s ward, was up for sale for £15,000 and sold to a mystery person for an undisclosed fee after the February 3 auction.

This newspaper contacted numerous people and organisations to uncover who originally owned the Burton Road land but no one stepped forward.
