Crawley Town have paid tribute to musician Mike Dobie, who died on Thursday.

Mike's family posted a tribute on his website - mikedobie.co.uk - which said: "I can’t believe that I’m having to write this post. I’m devastated and heartbroken to share with you that my best friend, soul mate and wonderful loving husband and son of Bill, brother of Paul, passed away on 22nd April. Mike was loved by so many of you and has left a huge guitar shaped hole in all of our lives. We would ask as a family for you to respect our privacy at this time. xxx Pauline, Bill and Paul"

The popular musician was well known in Crawley and played regularly at the Redz Bar at The People's Pension Stadium.

And at half tiome in today's game against Forest Green, Mike's music will be played. The Reds tweeted: "At half-time today we will be playing some of Mike’s best tunes at The People’s Pension Stadium! He will be remembered by all."

Reds fans also paid tribute on the Crawley Town FC Supporters Group Facebook page. Paul Comper posted: "Sad times always loved watching Mike play. He was so infectious because he loved doing what he did."

Ivan Noel said: "Can't believe he's gone. Top bloke, great musician and with the two Crawley FA Cup songs he put together he'll always be remembered as a CTFC Legend. RIP Mike, keep on rockin'.
