The town council said its events for 2020 were 'massively' affected by the pandemic and so decided to spend the money that would have spent on the projection with the hope of capturing the imagination of the young and old.

Town mayor, Phil Woodall and town crier Jane Smith, came along to mark the official opening the display.

Cllr Woodall said: “The Town Centre looks fantastic this year! What a boost this is for our local retailers and shoppers alike. I really hope this further encourages people to shop in Bognor Regis for their Christmas gifts.

"The effort that has gone in from everyone involved is phenomenal and to be here with my ‘partner in crime’, the Town Crier is wonderful”.
