Reside Developments are proposing to build the houses on a site off Shipley Road.

The company says it is “committed to creating ecologically sensitive developments that minimise the impact on the surrounding area.”

No formal planning application has yet been submitted but Reside Developments say that the proposals include provision of 35 per cent of affordable homes.

As well as the houses, the company is proposing new pedestrian and cycle links and a new central play area.

It says it proposes to retain trees and hedging and to also carry out more tree planting.

And, it says that if the go ahead is given, it will make a Community Infrastructure Levy of more than £722,000 towards the provision of local projects ‘including local school provision.’

Leaflets outlining the scheme are currently being delivered in Southwater and Shipley. The company says it wants to canvas opinions from local people before it goes any further.

Meanwhile, Reside Developments currently list a number of other development proposals as part of its ‘current projects.’

An initial planning application has been submitted to build 81 homes on a seven-acre site in Partridge Green.

The company also wants to build 25 homes on a site in Thakeham; a mixture of various-size homes on a 100-acres site on the edge of Billingshurst; and 10 houses on a two-acre site in Loxwood.
