Dog called Indiana Bones helps other canines build confidence - and he needs a new home

A cute dog called Indiana Bones is helping rescue dogs build confidence in kennels – and he’s looking for a home of his own.

The two-year-old Beagle is in care at the RSPCA Sussex West branch, in Eartham, after being found as a stray.

Despite his sad past, he’s been entrusted with an important job at the rescue centre.

The RSPCA said he’s ‘brilliant with the other dogs’ and helps his fellow canines build confidence by joining them on walks.

Sadly, Indiana has already been rehomed once but it ‘wasn’t quite the right match’, so he’s once again looking for a loving family.

An RSPCA spokesperson said: “Indiana Bones is a gorgeous Beagle who originally came to us through stray kennels, so sadly we don’t know much about his past.

"He can be a little worried by certain noises and unfamiliar objects when he’s out and about, but underneath that cautious side is a really lovely boy with a huge personality.

"Indiana absolutely loves his food (which may explain his slightly larger waistline!), and one of his favourite things in the world is heading off on long, sniffy adventures.

"After a busy day, you’ll usually find him curled up under a blanket having a good snooze.

"As he settles into home life, his exercise will need to be built up gradually to help him lose some weight and improve his fitness.

“Like many Beagles, Indiana is very food motivated and can be a bit cheeky when it comes to snacks and treats, often preferring to enjoy them in peace in a cosy spot of his choosing.

"Because of this, we feel he would be best suited to an adult-only home, or one with older teenagers.

“Mr Bones is brilliant with the other dogs here at the centre and is currently our resident stooge dog, helping other dogs build confidence on walks.

"He loves social strolls and plenty of sniffing opportunities.

"One thing he does find very scary is travelling in cars, so we’re hoping to find him a home where he can enjoy walks locally, at least while he builds confidence.”
