If you’re considering welcoming a dog into your home, why not opt for a rescue?
Raystede, situated in Ringmer, near Lewes, cares for animals who have sadly found themselves homeless for a variety of reasons.
Here are dogs who are all hoping for a second chance at happiness.
Each dogs’ full profile can be found on Raystede’s website.

1. Pascal - three-year-old Mongrel
Pascal is a new arrival, settling in and awaiting further assessment. Once available for adoption, he will be looking for a fun home with access to his own secure garden. Pascal is sociable and friendly with people, and loves a cuddle and a fuss! He can be anxious around some strangers. Pascal is good with most other dogs, but can be quite full-on towards some. He gets on well with Ricky, who is his son, and could possibly share a home with him. He has a strong prey drive, so can't live with cats, birds or small animals. Photo: Raystede

2. Willow - one-year-old Staffie
Willow is a wiggly, affectionate and exuberant staffie! She would like a fun, active home who can appreciate her need to be close at all times. Willow is very excitable around new people and can jump up and be boisterous. She may prefer to be the only dog in the home. Willow is a cheeky, typical bouncy staffie who would be best suited to someone used to the breed. Raystede said you'll need to steer clear when she gets the zoomies! Photo: Raystede

3. Ricky - one-year-old Mongrel
Once settled, Ricky will be looking for a fun home where he will have access to his own secure garden. He is sociable and friendly with people, and loves a cuddle and a fuss! Ricky is good with other dogs and could be rehomed with Pascal, who is his dad. Raystede said their 'suitability of being rehomed together is still being assessed'. He has a strong prey drive, so can't live with cats, birds or small animals. Ricky will require a supportive home with an understanding of his anxious behaviour and help to continue his housetraining. Photo: Raystede

4. Charlie - six-year-old King Charles Spaniel
Charlie is an outgoing, friendly boy who adores company. He would like a home with his own garden to explore. Charlie needs a little help with house training and is fine travelling. Raystede said he loves everyone and is a sweet boy. He is sociable with other dogs, but mostly prefers doing his own thing. The charity said he may be able to live with a calm, well-matched dog. Charlie will need a home with lots of company and help to build his confidence being left alone. Photo: Raystede
