Poppy knows sit, walks well on a harness and has already started to learn to be clean in the house. She will need some further training and needs to continue socialising in different places with other people and animals so she grows up into a confident , happy dog. Poppy has been very good with other dogs at the shelter and does like to play with them so any existing dog in her new home will need to be of a similar energy level. Poppy will make a great edition to a family with the time to put into her training and socialising. She will need her own garden and a home where she will not be left for too long on her own. These adorable dogs at a Sussex animal rescue are up for adoption. Could you give any of them a loving home?

Here are the latest dogs looking for homes at the RSPCA, which has branches in both West and East Sussex.

If you’re looking to welcome a new furry friend into your home, maybe one of these dogs could be the perfect pet for you?

Nala is in need of as new home after her owners moved abroad and sadly could not take her with them. Nala is a sweet friendly girl, but is also high-energy and bouncy and can be strong on the lead. She is a smart girl who is eager to learn and would benefit from some positive training to help with some basic life skills such as lead walking and recall. Nala enjoys the company of other dogs so she could live with another dog, as long as their personalities match. She has also previously lived with children, so could live with older children who are used to large dogs. Nala has a high prey drive so could not live with cats or small furry animals. Nala is looking for an active home, with a decent size, high fenced garden to play in. Most of all, Nala would like some humans to call her own and who will let her up on the sofa for a cuddle.

Roscoe enjoys playing with toys, especially soft squeaky or raggy ones. Roscoe is a typical, sensitive staffie who is worried by loud noises and can be overwhelmed on walks in busy places. Although he has lived with a smaller female dog he has not been socialised with other dogs, this means he can be reactive when he’s out on his walks. Roscoe is in care at the RSPCA's Brighton branch.
