West Sussex Highways says that improvement works are being carried out on the B2237 at Warnham.
A pedestrian refuge island is being installed and the works are scheduled to last from March 23 until April 5.
A spokesperson said: “Road users may be subject to additional delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes where possible.”
