Eastbourne A Level results: Moira House students’ hard work pays off

Students at Roedean Moira House were delighted with their A Level results this morning.

As with all schools across Eastbourne and beyond, the results were anxiously awaited due to the lockdown and concerns about how grades would be calculated without exams.

But, a spokesperson for the school in Upper Carlisle Road said, “Thankfully, the hard work of the students and the dedication of the teaching staff of this non-selective Eastbourne based girls school have paid off and the students have achieved an incredible 54 per cent of grades awarded at A* and A.”

Particular mentions were given to Dan who achieved an extraordinary four A*’s. She now leaves to study Theoretical Physics at Imperial College (London).

Georgia was awarded two A*’s and two A’s and will study Neuroscience at Sussex University.

Millie, who joined Moira House from Ratton at the start of her Sixth Form, achieved three A*’s and an A grade and will now study Physics at Bath University.

Students did particularly well in the sciences at Roedean Moira House.

The year 13 cohort all chose to study one A level in the sciences and the students are now all going on to study at their first choice University.

This ranges from UCL to read Urban Planning, Edinburgh to read Economics to Nursing, Criminology and Film.
