As the service has now switched to home working, Alan decided it was the right time to step down.

Alan Bruzon, chief officer for Eastbourne Citizen Advice, said he had worked with Alan for very many years and he would be missed.

Mr Bruzon said: “Alan’s contribution to the service has been tremendous and he has helped hundreds of people over the years.

“I will always remember him being there when I first joined as a volunteer in 2002 and he always made newcomers feel supported and welcome.

“For a number of years he was an employment specialist, representing people at employment tribunals and often succeeding in getting compensation for unfair dismissal or monies owed.

“All his work showed a tireless dedication to helping others.

“Alan will be greatly missed by the whole team at CAB and we wish him and his wife Margaret all the best for the future.

“Thank you for all your hard work.”
