In 2020, Eastbourne Borough Council took the opportunity to rid the gardens of an invasive weed, Oxalis, and replace some of the soil after the first lockdown resulted in a shortage of the supply of suitable plants.
Now the gardens are back to their former glory - and Herald photographer Justin Lycett took these photographs on a sunny day in a bid to cheer our readers up.
