Excitement builds as Petworth bonfire braces for 'best ever' event
Organised by the Petworth and District Community Organisation, the event will run from 5pm to 8pm on Saturday November 2. Visitors who arrive at 5pm will have a chance to buy a torch, grab some marshmallows for the fire, and some sparklers for the little ones and gear up for the festivities to come.
As well as the fireworks, and the bonfire burning, there will be plenty of hot food and drink to buy, available from local traders like SBYC, The Summit Tasty, The Best Kebab Van and the Stonemasons Inn. Mulled wine will also be available at the Stonemasons Community Centre.

Participants will wind their way around the site, then watch as the bonfire – built by volunteers in the weeks leading up to the event – is finally lit, all before the grand finale – fireworks – at seven pm.

A spokesperson for the Petworth and District Community Organisation said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank ours sponsors, without whom we could not put on a free event. They are Petworth Fitness Hub, W Bryder and Sons, Simmonds Saws and K& R Decorators. If you would like to sponsor a firework or a box, or donate any amount from £1.00, please contact [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you for the best Bonfire and Fireworks yet!”
