The Albion pub, on the seafront and George Street, has a loyal following for it’s take on the classic homemade pie, mash and liquor.
They offer seasonal varieties and vegan and vegetarian options.
Landlord Bob Tipler explains: “The pandemic really has been the biggest challenge that we have had to face in the five years of owning the Albion, so like many other pubs we have had to try to adapt to this new normal.
“The loss of half of our normal summer trade and of so many major festivals in a town that for which they become nationally famous has been a really difficult.
“It is a fact that it is going to take a long time to get back to any sense of where we were.”
In the meantime the Albion has launched a “Pies on Wheels” delivery and click and collect service.
According to Bob: “In spite of everything we had some great support from our regulars through the year.
“Many people have been asking if we could introduce a delivery service for the pies and ales that we do and we have been happy to oblige.
“There are meat, fish vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available.”
The Albion also plans to deliver Sunday “Pie” Roasts from this weekend.
Orders for food and beer can be made from the pub’s web site www.albionhastings.com.
