Hassocks school fundraising to buy laptops for children working from home

A spokesman for Downlands Community School said: “As you know, all students apart from keyworker students are remote learning during this current lockdown.

“We want to do all we can to help our young people receive the support and equipment they need in order to continue their learning.

“Each student needs to have access to a laptop so that they can access their lessons.

“While most homes have at least one device, with the majority of parents working from home there is often not enough technology to go around to enable everyone to complete the work they need to.

“We want to enable as many of our students as we can to be given access to laptops they don’t have to share.

“To allow us to raise funds more easily, we have started a Crowdfunding page.

“These young people are our future and we pride ourselves on doing all we can to help them be the best they can be.”
