“After the people of Hastings pulled together and donated a staggering £1000 to my fundraiser, it gave me another reason to be proud of this marvellous town.
“I originally decided to take on the challenge as a personal test, during the lockdowns to focus on improving my fitness to help with my mental health.

“As you can imagine the challenge was tough both physically and mentally but I’m proud to say I managed to run 50 miles over the course of two days.
“I would like to thank everyone that supported me over the course of the weekend, to my wife for being there every step of the way cheering me on, my friends for helping me train and most importantly to everyone that donated.”

They can also take a look back on my progress throughout the challenge on Instagram at @jakedoesthegogginschallenge. I will be taking part in another challenge/fundraiser in June for a local charity extremely close to my heart, I’ll be posting more information regarding this on the Instagram page soon.”
Hastings Food Action started in response to free school meals being rejected by MPs. Its aim was to give vulnerable families in Hastings and St Leonards, direct access to free food and toiletries during half term but this support has now been extended to include term time..
