The Italian Corner, owned by Giuseppe Palmisano, is based at The Courtyard within the historic White Rock Baths.
Giuseppe said his aim is to recreate the traditional street food of Italy, with small portions but fresh and tasty.
He said: “I have always wanted to open my own place because I like cooking and making everything fresh.”
The café offers slices of focaccia bread with various toppings, as well as tray-baked pizza slices with a number of toppings, and sweets, such as tiramisu.
It also offers hot drinks, like cappuccino, latte and espresso coffee, and a range of soft drinks.
The eatery, which opened at the beginning of January, is open from Thursday to Sunday, noon to 9pm.
A spokesperson for The Courtyard said: “Here at The Courtyard Hastings we are delighted to welcome The Italian Corner. Perfectly complementing our already established food and drink options such as Brewing Brothers and Patty Guy, we welcome all to come on down and enjoy whether it be to escape the elements under our weather-tight roof or throughout our packed summer schedule of live events.”
