Debra, already a well known and popular figure in the Old Town, was one of the original staff member when the Crown in All Saints Street re-opened 11 years ago.
Previously she had worked at Fagins restaurant and other shops and businesses in the Old Town and was also well known as a local artist and creative.
Debra, who was in her 70’s, passed away in her home on All Saints Street.
She was born in Camber on the 15th September 1954. At the age of 18 years old she left home and lived in Hastings for the next 52 years.
Her friend and former co-worker at the Crown Megan Donfrancesco said: “Debra was an integral part of the community throughout her life and will be missed by so many.”
Her service takes place at the Hastings Crematorium on 17th September at 10:15 followed by a wake at the Crown Pub all afternoon.
The coffin will stop at Winkle island beforehand for people to say goodbye. All are welcome.
Debra has a Much Loved page where people can donate to her preferred charity The Refugee Buddy Project. It can be found at www.debracocks.muchloved.com/
