The event took place at the Orchards Shopping Centre on Saturday, June 13.
The society said there were more than 100 entries across a range of classes and a spokesperson said the event ‘once again showcased the remarkable creativity and talent within the area’.
The HHHS spokesperson said: “Exhibits spanned traditional horticultural favourites such as sweet peas and roses, alongside cookery, handicrafts, photography and an especially colourful display of paintings from the society’s ‘Spring Chickens’. The variety ensured there was something to inspire visitors of all ages.
“In addition to the competitive displays, attendees enjoyed a range of fundraising activities including a tombola and lucky dip along with a range of plants for sale, all contributing valuable support towards the society’s ongoing work. A highlight for many were the fragrant sweet peas and bouquets of flowers from members’ gardens.
“During the afternoon, the society’s president (Roy Hayward) presented the cups, awards and certificates of merit, recognising the exceptional standards and gardening expertise demonstrated across the entries. The awards celebrate both seasoned growers and enthusiastic newcomers alike.
“The show attracted a steady stream of visitors throughout the day, reflecting strong community interest and support. Events like these continue to play an important role in bringing people together and celebrating local talent.”
The society is now preparing for its Autumn Show on Saturday, September 5, which will be held in St Wilfrid’s Centenary Hall (2pm). HHHS said entries are ‘warmly welcomed’ from across the community. To find out more email [email protected] or visit hhhs.org.uk.
