Henfield resident and charity CEO to climb Snowdon for families experiencing separation and conflict

A Henfield father and CEO of a charity is preparing to climb Snowdon to raise funds for families experiencing separation and conflict.

Sam Morfey, chief executive of Both Parents Matter, is set to complete his challenge on Saturday, May 30, as part of the charity’s new Make May Matter fundraising campaign.

Sam said on his JustGiving page: “The climb is a symbol of the challenge many families face navigating the complex court system in England and Wales, with its delays and emotional strain.”

Sam has raised more than £900 so far and people can donate to his fundraiser at www.justgiving.com/page/sam-morfey-3.

Sam said: “Every day we hear from parents who feel isolated, overwhelmed and worried about losing meaningful relationships with their children. This climb is about showing those families they are not alone — and raising vital funds so we can continue supporting people when they need us most.”

He said: “You don’t need to climb a mountain to get involved. We’d love people to support the campaign in whatever way works for them — whether that’s organising a fundraiser, donating, or simply helping spread the word.”

Sam’s fundraising target is £2,200, or £2 for every metre scaled. The funds raised will support: expanding the charity's local support groups and its national helpline to reach more parents in need, more training for volunteers and increasing advocacy and policy influence to support parents and protect children’s rights after separation.

Both Parents Matter is marking its 52nd year. Visit www.bothparentsmatter.org.uk to find out more.
