Filming was underway in Worthing on Friday, October 16, with film crews spotted in Montague Street, Bath Place and near the Pavilion.
A sign outside I Love Candy, in Bath Place, revealed the shop was ‘closed for filming until 3pm’.
On Sunday, October 18, crews once again appeared in Rustington, with filming taking place at Barry Wadsworth greengrocers in The Street. The shop had been given a makeover, with a new sign reading ‘Jennings’ Greengrocers’ on the window.
A fleet of production vehicles has also been seen parked up in Angmering.
The Worthing Herald understands the filming is for Netflix series Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging, based on the 1999 novel of the same name.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed the streaming giant had ordered a pilot for the series.
A casting call, seeking people with a ‘love for acting’ and a ‘great comedy ability’, was issued this summer. It said those taking part must be available for filming ‘around late September to late October 2026’.
The story has a strong connection to Sussex, with the original book set in Eastbourne.
A film adaptation, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, hit cinemas in 2008, with scenes filmed in Eastbourne, Brighton and London.
