Despite the cold weather, social distancing and the need to wear masks, members of the club collected £125.93 while at Newbridge Nurseries in Broadbridge Heath on Saturday, April 3.

Lions president, David Trowbridge, wishes to thank all members of the Horsham community for their generosity in what is a difficult time for everyone, and said he was thankful to the members of Horsham Lions for giving up their time and providing their support for this event.

“We sincerely hope to see you all again then. We should add that due to lack of opportunities to raise money, our priority is to help those in most need within our Horsham community.”

Despite the lack of fundraising since the pandemic began, Horsham Lions have continued to support members of the Horsham Community in most need.

This includes the provision of Christmas food hampers to 50 local needy families and presents for their 100 children, and a donation to Horsham Matters Food Bank.

The club also continues to provide its ‘Message in a Bottle’ to members of the public who need them. The project sees the club provide a small plastic container free of charge so that a simple form – which contains details of an individual’s medical conditions and medication which is kept in the fridge – can be insterted.

Two green stickers with crosses on them are also provided to place on the front of the fridge and front window which the police, fire brigade and paramedics will be on the lookout for when entering any property.
