Mel Higgins, activity co-ordinator, said: “Residents and staff had a fun-filled day celebrating with a high cream tea, strawberries and champagne. We had music playing and our residents shared stories of how they celebrated 75 years ago.” Guild Care had celebrations at two of its care homes, Caer Gwent and Haviland House. Alex Mason, digital communications officer, said: “Despite the lockdown, the homes were still able create a fun party atmosphere. There were flags, dancing and cake to mark the historical day.”
