A new community wellbeing centre in Rye is on track for an August opening.

Finishing touches are being carried out on The Hub on Rye Hill, which is due to open on August 3.

The Hub’s coordinators are looking forward to welcoming visitors in small groups so the social distancing guidelines can be observed. The Hub will be kitted out with a sanitising station and Perspex screens to ensure that both staff and visitors can enjoy a safe environment. A one way system will also be in place.

For those who will need mobility assistance, the Rye and District Community Transport bus will be running a twice daily shuttle service from the bus bays at Rye railway station to the Hub every Tuesday in August.

The volunteer-staffed café will be open between 10am and 4pm for light refreshments.

Volunteers will always be needed to help in the staffing of the café so if you are interested and would like to have more details, please contact Francesca Clent at [email protected]
