Events included a dog and horse show as well as many stalls and other entertainment. Also on display was a section of the Roman road that runs through the site.
The event was organised by the hospice’s Rye and District Country Show Committee, chaired by Michael Boyd, who said the show typically raises over £27.000 each year and continues to support the hospice, which in turn helps the people of Hastings and Rother cope with death, dying and loss.
He said how grateful the committee and hospice were for the tremendous support they receive from the landowners, the hospice volunteers and staff, stallholders, the organisers of and participants in the very many activities, and the public who make the event the success it is.
A St Michael’s Hospice spokesperson said: “Thanks to Philip Merricks MBE and Corinne Merricks, and Kit and Janet McLean for generously allowing us the use of their fields.”
