The streets of the ancient town of Rye will be ablaze with flaming torches at the weekend when the annual bonfire celebrations take place.

Bonfire societies and drumming groups from across the county are set to descend on the town to take part in a procession led by the Rye society on Saturday November 15.

Scorch, the bonfire society's popular fire breathing green dragon is certain put in an appearance to delight the crowds.

The procession will leave Tilling Green at 7pm and followed its usual route through the streets and Landgate Arch before making its way to The Salts where the bonfire will be lit, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

Here are pictures of last year’s event, taken by Andrew Clifton, to give you a flavour.
