Brave cyclists bared as much as they dared for this year’s Brighton Naked Bike Ride.

The annual event, which had been postponed this year, took place on the afternoon of Saturday, September 12.

Participants gathered at Preston Park from 12noon and set off at 2pm, following a seven-mile route through Brighton to Black Rock Naturist Beach.

A spokesperson for the event said on Facebook: “Brighton’s World Naked Bike Ride isn’t just about bikes – it’s a bold celebration of body positivity too.

“Every year (usually in June but this year for a change is September) , hundreds of riders of all shapes, sizes, ages and confidence levels take to the streets ‘as bare as you dare’ to show that all bodies are welcome – from fully nude to fully clothed.”

Organisers said the event is a ‘non‑sexual, inclusive space’ where no one is pressured into taking off their clothes.

The post on Facebook said: “We’re challenging body shame, consumer fashion norms and the idea that only certain bodies belong in public. The ride is about bikes, bodies and low‑impact living: highlighting how vulnerable we all are on car‑dominated roads, while celebrating the beauty and diversity of real human bodies in motion.”
