James Corden falls into the Eastbourne harbour filming for new Apple TV comedy series 'The Choir' with Ruth Jones

The Gavin and Stacey creators reunited alongside a star-studded cast, including Hannah Waddingham, James McAvoy and Jim Broadbent.

Footage sent to Sell Us Your Story shows James Corden, Jason Watkins and David Harewood singing on a pontoon on the water in Eastbourne's Sovereign Harbour as it sinks beneath them, before they all plunge into the water.

Other videos show Jones and Corden boarding a boat alongside their co-stars, and Corden playing air guitar.

A passer-by said filming began at 2pm on October 15, 2026, with the stars entering the water at around 4pm. The cast transformed the waterfront into a funfair, with filming continuing throughout today (October 16).

'The Choir' will be an eight-part series following Jones and Corden's characters, Ben and Lisa, who have not seen each other for several years.

Other cast members include Tom Davis, Rosie Sheehy, Gary Lamont and Evie Jones.

A passer-by who filmed the footage said: “They’ve got a great cast; I think it's going to be a big launch next year.

“They had a camera underwater and had set up boats to film everyone falling into the water.

“People said they had seen Tom Davis on set earlier that day.

“They [security guards] were getting quite upset, saying they don’t want to give anything away.”
