Littlehampton care home shares ice cream treat in the sunshine

A Littlehampton care home gave residents the perfect treat in the hot weather – and extended the offer to visiting workmen and a nearby doctors surgery.

Oakland Grange care home was visited by Bognor Regis-based Pinks Vintage on Wednesday, July 15, and Georgia Alston, business development manager, spent the afternoon serving from her ice cream van.

A team from Southwick-based Fireco was on site, so they were invited to tuck in, and staff at The Park Surgery, opposite the care home in St Floras Road, were also treated.

Kim Maw, Oakland Grange registered manager, said: “It was an amazing treat. Oakland Care Group arranged for an ice cream van to attend and treat us all to ice cream. It was great to have everyone together in the sun.

“Residents, staff, families, the local GP surgery and visiting contractors all enjoyed a fantastic treat when Pinks visited. Everyone loved the delicious ice creams and toppings served by Georgia, and it was a great opportunity for people to get together, have a chat and enjoy a treat in-the sunshine.”
