Littlehampton Sea Cadets see success in district competition

Littlehampton Sea Cadets won a trophy at the annual district drill and piping competition, following success last year.

The competition was held at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth, before the government’s coronavirus restrictions were put in place.

The junior piping team, Leading Junior Cadet Eliazabete Dikule-Diklae, Junior Cadet 1st Class Jessie Chao and Junior Cadet 1st Class Gabriele Kaminskaite, were victorious, taking home the trophy.

Littlehampton cadets were placed second in the colour guard competition, the highest placing the unit has achieved for many years.

Commanding officer Lt (SCC) Brian Osborne said: “I am delighted with the result as they all had worked extremely hard over the last couple of

weeks.”

Cadet 1st Class Ryan Richardson-Green was awarded his proficiency badge in piping and Petty Officer Tara Osborne received her six-year long service award.
