A spokesperson for the Feastival team said: “We want Feastival to be a success for the local people because after six years of great family festivals we didn’t want to throw in the towel and give up so easily especially as we’ve seen so many other events cancelled.

“Each year we choose a local charity to support helping raise extra money and awareness for those that deserve extra help, and this year we have joined forces with Defiant Sports.”

Defiant Sports is a community-based hub providing sports and activities for young children with long term conditions or disabilities. The group also supports adults with learning disabilities.

The spokesperson said: “The Defiant team are a not-for-profitable organisation so for their selfless hard work we have chosen to support them.”
