Called the Mid Sussex Reading Challenge, it aims to spark a love of reading in those who only occasionally pick up a book, and an incentive to try something new in those whose noses are always buried in one!

To celebrate the love of books, West Sussex Libraries invite everyone to take on the challenge. It's free to join and is suitable for people of all ages and reading abilities.

Readers can take part as an individual, as part of a reading group or get reading as a family.

People are invited to read 12 books in 2020 following a different theme each month including a banned book, a book under 200 pages long and a prize winning book.

The challenge is free to take part and designed to be informal so if people skip a month or join in late, that is not a problem.

Libraries have copies of all the books a reader will need to satisfy the headings, including a few banned ones.
