Bognor Regis Rotary Club member David Wheeler said Sunday afternoon’s event was just one part of a series of events designed to raise money for needy children.

"Over the last two years the Rotary Club has been running a campaign to feed the hungry children in the town,” he said. “The SMP (Square Meal Project), has seen them donate over £50,000 to children who are hungry. On this afternoon we raffled both a teddy bear and a gorilla that were donated to us by a local resident. We were joined by the Bognor Town Mayor who drew the winner tickets.”

The Sunday afternoon concernts have been running since May, with each event covering a different genre of music. Previous events have seen Jazz musicians, local bands and more take to the stage.

The last event of the season is set to take place on September 11 on the promenade bandstand. Starting at 2pm and finishing at 4pm, the event will feature performances by Igloo Music, as well as a community choir and band.
