Neighbourhood wardens turn Blue Monday into Brew Monday in Ashington

The third Monday in January is usually known as ‘Blue Monday’ but an initiative by The Samaritans to turn it into ‘Brew Monday’ instead has won national support.

People across the country have been encouraged to get togther over a warming virtual cuppa.

And Horsham neighbourhood wardens got into the spirit of the campaign by delivering goodie bags of tea, biscuits and stress balls to elderly and vulnerable residents.

They also gave out seed growing packs, to spread some cheer, as well as organising a ‘best sunflower’ competition for when the flowers have grown later in the year.
