New Hastings shop opens, specialising in handmade fantasy-themed goods and nature-based jewellery

An artist has opened a new shop, specialising in handmade fantasy-themed items and nature-based jewellery.

Pixie Noble opened Pixie's Wildwood Hollow at the newly-founded Alternative Market and Creative Hub at 5 Harold Place on February 14.

She said: “My store has essentially grown from market stalls. I'm in a fantastic spot, a relatively new space called the Alternative Market and Creative Hub, which has markets on Saturdays and various other specially curated shops, everything from jewellery, handcrafted items, handmade gifts and a tea room.

“I opened this store because I wanted to create a little pocket of magic and a space where people feel comfortable to come and relax, sit down and have a chat. A safe space essentially, where they can view my handmade items.

“I am predominantly an artist and work with clay. I make anything that's magical, anything that inspires me, that's nature-based, from acorn pendants to my mushrooms, my handmade clay mushrooms, which are all featured here on my Mycelium garden wall.

“I want to inspire people because I think we all have that kind of childlike curiosity. We all have that within us and I don't think we lose it. I just think that sometimes we need reminding of that: the beauty of the world, the magic of life.

“I'm local to Hastings and I absolutely love and treasure this wonderful town of ours. We have such an eclectic mix of so many different people from all walks of life, different talents and it's an honour to be able to open up somewhere for everybody to enjoy.

“They can come, relax, and be at peace. And I want people to feel calmer when they leave than they did when they arrived.”

The shop is open Thursdays, Fridays and most Saturdays from 11am to 4pm.

The shop also has a Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pixieswildwoodhollow.
