New West Sussex community radio station launches test transmissions

A brand-new radio station has proudly launched its test transmissions and website today bringing ‘proper local radio’ back to West Sussex.

V2 Radio is a brand new digital radio station with the aim of serving Sussex, initially with a focus on the West Sussex area.

The station will launch its full service in early January 2021 but from today people can hear the test transmissions from smart speakers and at v2radio.co.uk

Both Android and iOS mobile apps can also be downloaded.

Programmes will be presented by veterans of the broadcasting industry, already well known to listeners in Sussex, with many being former Spirit FM presenters.

V2 Radio will have a strong community ethos ☺— getting involved in local events, the arts and festivals, being visible through regular outside broadcasts and supporting local businesses and charities.

V2 radio presenter Milly Luxford said: “We are overwhelmed by the support we have received so far, including the incredible success of our Crowdfunding page where the fabulous people of West Sussex helped raise over sixteen thousand pounds to put towards broadcast equipment.

“We can’t wait to start serving the county we love once again.”
