Organised by reception class teacher Mel Costen, students at the Uckfield primary school marked Shrove Tuesday last year by donning heir chefs hats, washing their hands and making their very own pancakes. But they didn’t eat them straight away. That afternoon, the pupils filed out into the windy playground to race with their frying pans and pancakes in tow.
Headteacher Joanna Sanchez enjoyed the day. She said: “The students had a fantastic time learning how to make pancakes and really enjoyed the races. It was great to see big smiles on everyone’s faces.” See all the best photos below.
