Pictures show damage to East Sussex Harvester restaurant and police at scene

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.30pm, Sussex Police added.

A flatbed van was pictured on the grass verge at the Horse & Groom Harvester in High Street.

Pictures also showed police officers at the scene and damage to the building and outdoor furniture.

Posts on the Harvester's Facebook page from last year said the restaurant had reopened early in December following a refurbishment.

A Sussex Police spokesperson: “Emergency services were called to a report of a van colliding with the front of a pub in High Street, Polegate, at around 11.30pm on Wednesday (January 28).”
