On Sunday, August 16, 15 walkers, including three children, took on the 28.2 mile challenge to raise money for Brighton based charity Forward Facing.

Candice Konig, CEO of the charity, said: "The mammoth walk wasn't just about raising money. It was also to raise awareness about what our charity does for families whose children are living with long-term or life-limiting conditions or those who have suffered bereavement or hardship".

Brighton resident and walk leader, Luke Tyler, 40, who suffers from a long-term back condition had three weeks to arrange this event due to Covid19 restrictions.

Luke said, "The walk was almost completely coastal and included some stunning scenery and was a great way to meet new friends whilst raising vital funds/awareness for a great charity".

Luke first met Candice and her Forward Facing team when his reptile experience company, RepTylers, came to an event that the FF team had put on for their families.

Luke said: "After meeting Candice and her team I wanted to do something that will help support their mission and came up with the idea of this stunning, annual, coastal walk. Last year we raised over £4000 whilst raising awareness for this incredibly dedicated charity".

The walkers had a few challenges on the way, they were caught in rain, thunder and lightning halfway through the walk and two of the walkers ended up finishing the walk on crutches but they all pulled together and finished as a team,

The Pier to Pier Challenge raised over £3000 which will be used to create memory making days for the families Forward Facing work with.
