Polegate scarecrows pop up for festival

The Scarecrow Festival will run from June 13 until June 27 and is raising much needed funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice and SERV Sussex.

Polegate Scarecrows Community Fund have expanded their judging zones enabling more local residents to enter the competition and support their chosen charities.

Nathan Dunbar, 17, who is the event co-ordinator, said: “Although we have sadly had to cancel our summer fun-day this year we wanted to continue the chance for local residents to come together with their handmade creations all in the aid of two very important charities who are struggling during these unprecedented times.

“The previous two Scarecrow Festivals in Polegate have raised more than £1,700 for local causes.”
