Roald Dahl day connects Horsham care home residents with pupils

Residents of Westlake House have loved the artwork pupils from both Arunside and Holbrook Schools have sent which has brought to life the characters of their favourite stories and allowed them to make new friends in the inter-generational scheme.

Kate Day, general manager of the home said: “Residents have really enjoyed looking at all the artwork sent in, depicting their favourite characters from famous Roald Dahl stories such as ‘Willy Wonka’ from Willy Wonker and The Chocolate Factory and the ‘BFG’ from The Big Friendly Giant stories.

“The residents have designed their own certificates to thank the students for their fabulous endeavours and to reflect their gratitude for bringing such imagination and joy to this event.”
