Rustington prize winners receive awards

Rustington Parish Council has presented prizes to winners of this year’s gardens competition and the 2020 Parishioners’ Award. Chairman Jon Street and vice-chairman Alison Cooper were able to present most of the awards in person and the rest were hand delivered.

Results of the gardens competition were as follows: residential window boxes, balconies and patio tubs, winner 99 The Martlets; runner-up 6 Shaftesbury Court; commercial window boxes, balconies and patio tubs, winner The Lamb public house; residential front gardens, winner 16 Goodwood Close, runner-up Oakdene, 18A Broadmark Lane; commercial front gardens, winner Rustington House; schools’ competition winner Georgian Gardens Community Primary School, runner-up Summerlea Community Primary School; community gardens, winner The Hidden Twitten at the rear of Herne Gardens and Orchard Gardens garage compound, runner-up Rustington Methodist Church Garden.

Winner of the 2020 Parishioners’ Award was Mrs Sheila Marsden, in recognition of her unceasing commitment to Rustington Museum and the Rustington Heritage Association, by way of her dedicated hard work and efforts to preserve the history of the village for the benefit of its community and the generations to come.
