Southbourne community comes together for ‘Caring For The World’ display

Local groups, schools and businesses came together for a ‘Caring For The World’ exhibition at St John’s Church in Southbourne.

The free event, running from September 29 to October 3, brought together people from across the community, with participants invited to create their own displays exploring the theme in the week leading up to the church’s Harvest Festival.

A wide range of local groups took part, including Southbourne Infant and Junior School, Bourne Community College, Southbourne Sea Scouts, Southbourne Brownies, Age Concern Centre, Southbourne WI and Men’s Shed.

Local businesses also joined in, with displays from Moore’s Funeral Home, B and R Services and Southbourne Environment Group.

The exhibition attracted many visitors throughout the week, giving people the opportunity to explore the displays and celebrate the work of organisations and groups in the local community.

Organisers at St John’s Church described the event as a ‘fantastic community display and hope it will become an annual fixture in Southbourne’s calendar’.
