Spring clean for Brighton shopmobility scheme

A Brighton charity has given its wheelchairs and mobility scooters a spring clean.

Brighton and Hove charity Possability People, which runs the city’s Shopmobility scheme, has carried out its annual maintenance.

Batteries have been charged, tyres have been pumped up, and the paintwork has been repaired ready for the next year of service.

The low-cost mobility equipment hire service allows members of the public to hire a scooter or wheelchair for a daily rate of £5.

Lessons on operating the scooters are given by knowledgeable volunteers at the scheme.Equipment can be collected from three locations - Churchill Square, Kemp Town and London Road - and deliveries and collections can also be arranged for a small fee.

For those wishing to hire longer-term, overnight and weekend hire can be arranged.
