A small hole appeared on Tuesday last week amid a day of heavy rain. Hastings councillor Paula Warne said: “I have alerted East Sussex Highways and hopefully a repair will be done very soon.”
An East Sussex Highways spokesperson said: “Having established that the issue in Dane Road is not being caused by water escaping from drainage pipes, sewers, or water mains, we are now in the process of arranging further investigation and repair with timings to be confirmed.
“We apologise for the disruption, but it is important that the cause of the voids is fully investigated so the right people can carry out the necessary repairs to prevent further issues occurring. We will make every effort to reopen the road as quickly as possible.”
