Storrington garden designer makes Landscape Photographer of the Year shortlist
Amanda Patton captured ‘Woods near Wiggonholt’ on a frosty morning last November and her entry has been shortlisted in the Classic View category of the national competition.
She said: “On this particular morning I could see before I left home that the light was special, with a dusting of frost and a little bit of mist, so I took my camera with me and spent an hour photographing before work.

The Landscape Photographer of the Year awards celebrate the beauty of the United Kingdom, with the competition attracting thousands of entries from all over the world.
This is the first time Amanda has entered the awards though not the first time her photography has been recognised, as she won the Royal Horticultural Society’s Garden Photograph of the Year in 2003.
Award winners in all categories will be announced on Sunday, October 18, and a book showcasing the best of 2020’s entries will be published on Monday, October 19.

The awards were founded in 2006 by Charlie Waite, one of today’s most respected landscape photographers, he describes the competition as “‘a wonderful platform for photographers to express their relishing of what the British landscape means to them and most especially what it meant to them at that most special of moments.’
