Storrington Remembrance 2026: crowds line streets of West Sussex village to watch parade

The 2026 Storrington Remembrance Parade took place during the afternoon of Sunday, November 8, as residents lined the village streets to witness the stirring spectacle.

This year’s event started slightly later than usual, setting off at 2.40pm at Old Mill Drive.

Cadets, Girlguides, Rainbows, Brownies, Cubs, Beavers and Scouts marched in the parade alongside vintage vehicles and a horse, while West Chiltington Silver Band provided the music.

Roads were temporarily closed off as participants, which included military personnel, took a route through the village to St Mary’s church for the Act of Remembrance, which featured wreath laying and a two-minute silence.

Wreaths were laid by the Parish Council and the Reverend Jonathan Swindells, before people were invited to attend a Civic Service of Remembrance in the church.
