Success for British Queen pub charity day
The British Queen pub’s annual charity day on Friday June 3 has raised £3,377.30 towards sponsorship for guide dogs.
The Lower Willingdon pub unexpectedly had more than 500 people attend and it was its biggest charity event to date. Landlady Angela Cain was presented with a special award at Music In The Park in Huggetts Lane Recreation Ground on Sunday June 4, in recognition of her work in the community. She is now officially Honorary Freeman of the Parish of Willingdon.
