With Covid-ready special measures and a PPE-style tandem jumpsuit now in place, the Bosham hospice has earmarked three dates at GoSkyDive in Salisbury – September 20, March 7 and July 4.

Alex Burch, community fundraising manager, said: “I remember my first jump, the nerves on the way up were easily surpassed by the almost indescribable sense of exhilaration on the jump itself.

Hayley Gardener, who jumped with St Wilfrid’s last year, said: “I felt every kind of emotion – it was such a surge of adrenaline, I had a clearer head than I had had in months!

“I was glowing for days and days afterward. I definitely came down a different person, more confident.

“I looked at life a different way after all the care and support St Wilfrid’s had given us after my dad died.

“The jump was part thank-you for that.”
