The summer holidays are about to begin, so now is a great time to start planning how you’re going to keep your little ones occupied for six weeks.

We know some family days out can be very expensive, so we’ve put together this list of ten free days out to enjoy across Sussex with your kids to help you keep your summer spending in check.

A series of free fun events are to be held in and around Horsham to mark national ‘Love Parks Week.’ A wide range of activities are being organised by Horsham District Council – from July 29 to August 2 – designed to appeal to all ages, abilities and interests. Some of the sessions have limited spaces and require booking in advance and some are open sessions ensuring we have a great mix of activities to be enjoyed. Illuminate Bognor is a free event as part of a weekend of fun on Bognor Regis seafront. There will be a seafront funfair on August 24 and 25, organised by Bognor Regis Seafront Lights, with a night-time illuminated walking procession on Sunday 25. It will leave London Road Car Park at 8.30pm, finishing on the seafront, with fireworks from the pier at 10pm.

There will be a variety of free activities on site including pony pampering, refreshments, face painting and a treasure hunt.
